Privacy policy
Wormy Worlds collects nothing.
Your practice stays on your phone. It goes anywhere else only when you send it there.
What the app keeps, and where
Everything you do in the app is kept on your phone, in the app's own storage, where only you can see it: your answers, tempos and goals, the stories and the names you give them, your worlds, the days you practiced, and your settings.
If your iPhone backs itself up (to iCloud or to a computer), that backup includes the app's data, as it does for any app. That is your own backup, and the developer cannot see it.
What leaves your phone, only when you choose
- A backup file. In Settings, Save backup makes a file and opens the iPhone's share sheet. It goes where you send it: Files, AirDrop, Mail, and so on. Restore reads a backup file you pick.
- A picture. Sharing a story or a world makes a picture. Save Image asks to add it to your Photos. That is the one permission the app ever asks for, and it can only add. It cannot see your photos.
- A message to support. If you write to the support address, we see what you write and the address you wrote from, and nothing else. We use it only to answer you.
What the app does not do
- No account, no sign-in, and no personal information asked for.
- No analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party code.
- No microphone, camera, location or contacts. Wormy asks you; it never hears you play.
- No notifications.
- No servers of its own. The app sends nothing to the developer or to anyone else.
A page-turn pedal or a keyboard, if you use one, only answers YES or NO inside the app. The metronome's sound plays on your phone and can keep playing when the screen locks.
Apple's part
From time to time, after you have earned a few worlds, the app may ask whether you would like to rate it, using Apple's standard prompt. iOS shows and handles that prompt, and the app learns nothing from your answer.
Apple runs the App Store and TestFlight and has its own privacy policy. If you join the TestFlight, Apple's TestFlight shares what Apple's terms describe (for example the email you were invited with, and any feedback you choose to send). If you have chosen in your iPhone's Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may pass the developer anonymous crash reports. Nothing else comes back.
Your data, and the people who play
Deleting the app deletes its data from your phone. A backup file or a picture you saved or shared stays where you put it.
Wormy Worlds is for players of any age, children included. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, there is nothing for us to hand over, correct or erase on request. If you have a question about any of this, write to us.
If this changes
Any change will be listed on this page, with a new effective date, and in the App Store release notes before it takes effect.
